Index is a pioneer in selecting Brazilian companies and the company was selected, for the second consecutive time, among the top three
In a new measurement of TEVA Women in Leadership Index, made this year, M. Dias Branco (MDIA3) remains in third position in the gender diversity ranking, from a total of 15 selected companies, scoring 38.1.
Since July 2022, the company has included in Teva Women in Leadership Index (ETF ELAS11), managed by Banco Safra and listed for trading on B3. This is the first quantitative index in Brazil on the presence of women in governance, mapping more than 150,000 positions in all listed companies.
Every quarter, a new analysis is conducted, according to available information on publicly traded companies, considering the proportion of women on Boards of Directors, Fiscal Councils, Executive Boards and Management Committees. The index assigns points to companies that hire or promote more women to these positions and penalizes those with no women or with a trend of decreasing representation.
M. Dias Branco is a signatory to the United Nations (UN) Global Compact, through which it reinforces its commitment to the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), related to environmental protection, social responsibility, ethics and fight against corruption. In the Sustainability Strategy Agenda released last year, the national leader in pasta and crackers and cookies set a goal of having 40% of leadership positions held by women by 2030. This goal is in line with SDG 5 of the UN Global Compact: achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls.
Currently, 40% of M. Dias Branco’s Board of Directors is made up of women. Across the Company, which has more than 17,000 employees, more than 22% of women hold leadership positions, including management, executive officers and vice presidents.
Conceição Marques, Corporate Administrative Manager at M. Dias Branco, explains what she feels in her position. “It is very rewarding to work in a company where opportunities are considered through intellectual capacity and leadership, irrespective of gender. I feel
important and valued for my work, and this generates motivation and inspiration to achieve my goals”, she says.
“M. Dias Branco has an established culture regarding diversity and encourages everyone to have the same opportunities. Remaining in the ranking is the evidence that we have consistent actions to promote female leadership”, says Tiago Timbó, Communication, Culture and Sustainability manager at M. Dias Branco.
