For the second consecutive year, the Company is the highlight in the category of Food Company
Winner for two consecutive years (2020 and 2021) of “Melhores da Dinheiro” award, in the category of Food Company, M. Dias Branco was recognized as the best in Social Responsibility in the 2022 award. The Company ranked second in Innovation and Quality.
“We are very happy with this rating, as it means that our social work with the needy communities is receiving more and more recognition. We strongly believe in the dialogue with communities and institutions for the development of truly relevant projects. We have been focusing our actions on entrepreneurship and professionalization in the food sector to impact 150,000 people by 2030”, says Tiago Timbó, the company’s Communication, Culture, and Sustainability manager, emphasizing that “our food donations have also made an actual difference in the lives of the needy population, especially with the growth of hunger in Brazil. In 2022, we will donate 2 thousand tons of food”.
As for the second position in Innovation and Quality, Marcelo Augusto, M. Dias Branco’s R&D manager, highlights that “being ranked among the first three in this topic reaffirms our commitments to the innovation strategy, with the quality of our products and processes, and respect to our consumers”, he explains.
In its 19th edition, the award was created by Editora Três and promoted by IstoÉ Dinheiro magazine, aiming at recognizing the actions of the major companies in Brazil. In addition to Social Responsibility, Innovation, and Quality, requirements such as: sales revenue, financial sustainability, and human resources are considered.
Recently, the Company announced to the market its ESG commitments to be achieved by 2030, comprising 18 public goals, divided into 15 themes and covering the social, environmental, and governance areas. One of the goals is to reach the mark of 100% recyclable, compostable, or biodegradable plastic packaging. In addition, M. Dias Branco undertakes to use 90% renewable energy within the next eight years. M. Dias Branco is a signatory of the Global Compact of the United Nations (UN) and bases its initiatives on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), included in the global agenda.
