By achieving the “Zero Landfill” target, M. Dias Branco’s brand no longer disposes of an average of 40 tons of waste per year in landfills, helping to reduce environmental impacts.

Jasmine Alimentos’ factory in Campina Grande do Sul, Paraná, has achieved its commitment to dispose of 100% of its waste sustainably during 2022, reaching “Zero Landfill”. The practice includes channeling all the waste generated at the plant to reuse and recycle materials, creating more circular destinations, as well as reusing and ennobling substrates. By materializing and achieving the Zero Landfill goal, Jasmine has stopped disposing of an average of 40 tons of waste per year in landfills, contributing to the reduction of environmental impacts caused by these substrates.

Aware of the importance of environmental management in recent years, M. Dias Branco’s proposal is to reduce to zero the amount of waste sent to landfills in all its operations by 2030, with the aim of encouraging and developing concrete actions to reduce environmental impacts. The company believes that by disposing of waste for different treatments, it encourages the implementation of a strong circular economy, helping to reduce the extraction of various raw materials. In this context, the company highlights its commitment to the environment through its brands.

Sandra Serena, Quality and Environment Manager at Jasmine, explains that M. Dias Branco is continually striving to comply with the pillars of sustainability. “We assess and control all its environmental aspects and impacts arising from the production chain. That’s why we have this waste management called ‘Zero Landfill’, in which we have implemented new practices to approve suppliers who are trained and licensed to properly recycle and dispose of materials. In addition, we have a multidisciplinary technical team and highly qualified and trained professionals, who always endeavor to comply with the applicable legal requirements, as well as innovating in their actions,” she says.

Sandra also comments that the Jasmine brand’s sources of inspiration are nature, creativity and innovation. “We believe that our actions have a direct impact on the production of tasty, healthy food and contribute to valuing and respecting the environment,” she concludes.
