M. Dias Branco once again stood out in the annual Top 100 Open Startups ranking, as one of the 10 companies that are creating and generating the most value through Open Innovation by partnering with startups in the Consumer Goods and Food category.

M. Dias Branco is one of the companies awarded in the 100 Open Startups 2023 Ranking, the largest corporate ranking in Latin America and a benchmark for the market, which since 2018 has highlighted and recognized the work of organizations for the development of open innovation in the country. The Company was ranked in the top 10 in the Consumer Goods and Food category for the second consecutive time.

As of 2018, the company started the Germinar Program, which selects and invests in startups and researchers, investing in innovation in strategic areas and contributing to the development of the food technology ecosystem (foodtech), entrepreneurship and digital transformation.

“We have supported the implementation of several innovative projects in many areas of the company and witnessed constant progress with the Germinate Program. More than establishing strategic alliances with startups and research centers, the program also brings new management tools and methodologies, improving the employee development process and strengthening our culture of innovation”, says Fernando Bocchi, R&D Officer.

History

The idea for the Germinate Program was born out of a process that began in late 2017, with a trip by M. Dias Branco executives to global innovation hubs, including Silicon Valley in California (USA), which is home to many of the world’s largest technology companies. Inspired by the possibility of achieving even more gains for the company and for society, M. Dias Branco has taken on the responsibility of encouraging the development of foodtechs in Brazil by connecting with startups.

Throughout its history, Germinar Program has worked with more than 300 startups and has signed agreements or made investments with more than 17 of them.
