2021 Integrated Annual Report

For the 8th consecutive year, we published our Integrated Annual Report and, since 2014, we are considering the unified disclosure of actions in ESG (environmental, social and governance) aspects.

This edition presents market, economic and financial, operational and social and environmental information for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2021. GRI guidelines (Global Reporting Initiative – guided the preparation of the content, in compliance with the Standard pattern, key option.

The material themes, defined in the Strategic Sustainability Agenda for the 2014-2021 cycle, guided the reported indicators. Throughout 2021, we revisited, through a materiality process and by listening to stakeholders, the new priority themes for the 2022-2030 cycle.

The assessment of the financial indicators complies with the international accounting standards approved by the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM). Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the United Nations (UN) Global Compact Principles, to which M. Dias Branco is a signatory, were also important references for the preparation of the content. KPMG, the external auditor, assured the data veracity and reliability.

  • We implemented the Volunteer Factory Program, encouraging the work of organizational consulting provided by employees from technical areas, such as: Strategy, Corporate Education and Communications, in a supported institution
  • As part of the volunteer program, we organized a mangrove cleaning action and seedling planting around our unit in Salvador/BA, celebrating the World Cleaning Day
  • In partnership with Senai, the Company provided free training to the communities surrounding four units: two in Fortaleza/CE; one in Salvador/BA and one in Jaboatão dos Guararapes/PE. A total of 75 people were qualified in courses such as: Industrial Electrician, Administrative Assistant, Production Assistant and Logistics Assistant
  • We participate in Movimento Todos à Mesa (Everyone at the Table Movement) focused on to combating food waste through the redistribution of surpluses and donation initiatives, in addition to encouraging discussions on how to expand the regulatory framework for donations.

    We maintained the strategy of geographic sales diversification. In 2021, 64.1% of sales occurred in the Defense area (North and Northeast regions) and 33.9% in the Attack area (South, Southeast and Midwest regions). Exports represented 2.0% of sales, maintaining a high standard, in line with the strategy, and reaching 46 countries (44 in 2020).
